India and the US on Tuesday agreed that Pakistan needs to take actions to catch the perpetrators of 2008 Mumbai attacks and 2016 Pathankot attack.

Addressing a joint press conference with visiting US secretary of state John Kerry, foreign minister Sushma Swaraj said that both countries also reaffirmed the necessity for Pakistan to dismantle safe havens for terrorists and criminal networks.

“We reaffirmed the urgent necessity for Pakistan to dismantle safe havens for terrorists and criminals networks including LeT, JeM and the D-Company,” said Swaraj.

On his part, Kerry said, “US continues to support all efforts to bring the perpetrators of 2008 Mumbai and 2016 Pathankot attacks to justice.”

The US Secretary of State arrived in New Delhi on Monday for strategic and commercial talks with India. He is leading the American delegation to the seventh meeting of the US-India strategic dialogue, which seeks to improve security and economic development ties between the nations.

Swaraj said that she apprised Kerry of cross border terrorism by Pakistan and said there cannot be double standards in combating terror.

“I briefed secretary Kerry on the continuing problem of cross border terrorism that India and the larger region faces from Pakistan,” said Swaraj.

Echoing the Indian foreign minister’s remark, Kerry also said that US can’t and won’t make distinction between good and bad terrorists.

“US stands with India on all matters of terrorism, no matter where it comes from; it’s crystal clear we are on the same view over it”, he said.

Earlier in the day, during the 2nd Indo-US Strategic and Commercial Dialogue (S&CD), co-chaired by Sushma Swaraj and commerce minister Nirmala Sitharaman along with US Secretary of State John Kerry and US secretary of commerce Penny Pritzker in New Delhi, the two sides also discussed ways to enhance cooperation in key areas of energy and trade and business.

My view

1. It is fantastic effort to bring USA close to Bharatham;

2. Our PM, External affair Minister and Defense Minister with Home Minister make a combine effort to Push Bharatham High;

3. Present situation,  "Pak and China combined jealous and hatred against us, and keep on claiming our territory and a menace to our growth and development;

4. Days progressing, they become a threat to our peaceful co-existence in South-east asian region;

5. Our decition to begin a strong relationship with USA and West, is a best strategy, forb our future.
