A symbol in religion is mainly meant for the purpose of concentration and meditation

Fire is an element that has a fluctuating shape, space and air.

The subtler elements have no form and are not perceptible to the sense.

Again, fire in the wood is unmanifest, and it can be invoked into manifestation by the ritualistic process called ‘churning the fire’.

 Lastly, whatever we offer as oblation, the fire digests it in its heat, and hence the traditional concept that fire is the ‘mouth of the Gods’.

The above explanations are some of the lower ones.
