In the era of internet and social media, mistakes by leaders from across political parties are quite normal. However, Congress party would not have imagined that its West Bengal unit will make such a big blunder on Twitter on former PM Rajiv Gandhi's birth anniversary.
In a tweet remembering the former Prime Minister, West Bengal Congress posted Gandhi's most controversial statement he gave after the assassination of his mother Indira Gandhi.
Shortly after the riots against Sikhs broke in the aftermath of the assassination of Indira Gandhi by her bodyguards, Gandhi sought to pacify Indians in a speech. But it turned out to be a highly controversial and senseless statement.
He said, "When a big tree falls, the ground shakes", referring to the death of his mother. It's a statement that has found presence in every book published on the anti-Sikh riots and on the lips of every opposition politician who have slammed the Congress for the riots.

As for the tweet by the West Bengal Congress, it was promptly deleted within ten minutes of being published. But the damage had been done by then. Screenshots of the tweet were plastered across the micro-blogging platform and caught the attention of many.

Sub : Cartoon of Rahul Hiding From Modi Removed by Karnataka Municipality
Ref : Media report - The ruling Congress party in Karnataka has taken censorship a bit too far. A cartoon hoarding by noted cartoonist Satish Acharya has been removed by the Municipality of Kundapura in Udupi district of Karnataka.
News18
Satish Acharya, who works from his home in Kundapura, has a fixed hoarding named Cartoon Corner and displays some of his best work there.
Recently, he had displayed a cartoon in which Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi was hiding behind Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to escape from Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is seen menacingly rushing towards him.
Speaking to News18.com Satish Acharya said, "I draw cartoons on all political parties. I use cartoon corner hoarding to display some of them. In the past nobody troubled me. After I had put this cartoon up, a local Congress leader called me up to suggest that I should remove it as it is offensive."
"The very next day, Kundapura municipality removed it on the pretext of clearing the city of billboards. The Congress should be worried about the challenges before the party. It should not be afraid of a harmless cartoon," he added.
Reacting to the development, Karnataka Congress president Dr G Parameshwara said he was not aware of any such developments and the Congress had nothing to do with it.
Kundapura municipality defended the action saying that they have removed all hoardings and billboards to beautify the town.
Acharya said he had sent a message to AICC media incharge Ajay Maken but he is yet to get a reply.
My views
1. Congress Leaders and its followers are more or less senseless people;
2. Nehru was roaming behind Non-alignment movement which shortly dumped;
3. Nehru is the main cause for present Kashmir issue;
4. Nehru's blunders damaged this country to greater extent;
5. Indira was a dictator, with sycophants around her; ( She and her deeds, relationship with Bindrawala, an invitation for death by her own guards)
6. Her younger son Sanjay was indiscipline, and disturbed the Government by his involvements;
7. Rajiv was ignorant, immature to be in politics, he was the cause for humiliation of our peace-keeping force of Indian Army in the hands of Sri Lankans;
8. He mishandled Tamil tigers and its mad leader, a dictator, and invited his death in their hands;
9. Karnataka Congress by removing the cartoon, cannot change its own stupidity in the history;
10. Hence if the people wish for Congress mukti Bharatham, no wonder !!
