Display of fireworks (First Round) : The first round of pyrotechnics, known as Sample Vedikettu, happens on the fourth day after the flag hoisting of the Pooram. Flag Hoisting (Kodiyettam) : The Pooram celebration begins seven days before the main Pooram.  It starts with the ceremonial flag hoisting (Kodiyettam) by various participating temples.
