*All Members,
*Respected family members of this great holy Nation.
The question of how to live the values of life is not a new one faced only in modern times. It is as old as our scriptures. This is a weakness that every person faces in his life - the contradiction between his knowledge and his living.
**VERY IMPORTANT FOR THE PRESENT DAY PARENTS : - to direct their children - Follow Sincerely :
Your child is not different from you and you are not different from your child. Therefore, what you are, your child will be. Now you have to decide what you want yourself to be and your child to be, because the choice is yours.
*** VERY IMPORTANT FOR THE PRESENT DAY TEACHERS :- to direct your students
A spiritual teacher plays a significant and indelible role in the life of a human being. If you are privileged enough to have such a teacher, you are assured of success in all spheres – worldly and spiritual.
SUB : - O YOUTH! O STUDENTS! READ THIS NOW -4.5.6.7.
REF : - DRUG PREVENTION IS EASIER, CURE IS DIFFICULT.
Listen to Swami Sivananda :
4. ARE THERE GIRLS WHO ABUSE DRUGS? WHAT IS THE RATIO?
Most drug addicts are male, but there are several girls hooked on the drug too. Most girls on the drug are persuaded by their boy friends to try it. Few try it out of frustration. The ratio is 1:25.
5. COMMON SOURCES:
Beware of Drug peddlers who usually operate from 'Joints' which are mainly in the economically backward area.
6. AVOID COMMON SITUATIONS:
In schools and colleges, beware of friends who call you a 'sissy' or 'chicken' for not indulging in their 'pastimes'. Never accept cigarettes from them--these may contain drugs. A few strong puffs are enough and you can become a hopeless addict. Be wise and learn to say NO. Always remember your friends are in a trap and they want you trapped too!
7. CAN YOU IDENTIFY A DRUG ADDICT?
YES, CERTAINLY.
Your child may not easily admit that he or she is taking brown sugar, but you can recognize the evidence in the following early warning signs:
Pin-point pupils even at night (after a joint).
Loss of appetite and loss of weight (up to 35 Kg, in two years). This can also happen due to preference of the drug over food.
Immediately on awakening in the morning, he may rush out of the house with a sense of urgency or may dash to the bathroom where he will take brown sugar.
He will take longer periods of time in the toilet--either because of constipation, or because he is enjoying a joint.
NEXT :7. CAN YOU IDENTIFY A DRUG ADDICT?
YES, CERTAINLY.
To be continued ...
Note :-
Practical application of the values explained in the Bhagwad Gita in our daily lives can be very rewarding. When knowledge sinks in and is really absorbed, then it automatically comes into play in our life. There is no gap between knowledge and its practical application.
When knowledge is comprehended intellectually, but not assimilated or internalized, then this contradiction becomes evident — I know something, but do not know how to apply it to my life.
The Bhagwad Gita teaches us how to live with things, beings and experiences that we come across in our daily life. If we really understand what is taught, we will be able to use it.
Knowledge is meant for practical use. If it is not used, then such knowledge is useless for us.
It is said in the Gita: "Jnatva sastravidhanoktam karma kartumiharhasi" —
‘Having understood what is stated in the scriptures, act accordingly. ’
The sentence appears simple; let us see its implications. All of us suffer in life at some time or other. There are many reasons for this, but one key factor is our thoughtless action. All of us know it. The flip side of it is action less thought, when thought is there, but no follow up in action.
OPINION :-
1. In Kerala, communists and Congress student unions with political support almost degraded the Teacher-Student relationship;
2. Today children have no "Guruthuvam" which is highly regarded in Bharatham since ancient days, now parents as well as students do not know the meaning of " Guruthuvam"!
3. Literates, media, and the so called maths simply keep away from this delicate subject;
4. Money is regarded as divine in kerala with politics, to protect themselves from the laws of the land;
5. So for many education means not knowledge, but a sheet of paper, known as degree, graduation, post graduation, PhD and so on, these things are available in the market for money, so where is the need for education, then the question " knowledge" How much a kilo?
