Respected family members of this great holy Nation.

Sub : Kerala Red rice and the medicinal Navarra Rice- About to disappear from Bharatham.

Ref : 1. Because of wrong land reforms of the communists, wrong policies and Negligence by the LDF AND UDF  Governments alternatively in the Agricultural sector; 2. Too much importance on political reasons of Kerala Congress to Cash Crops, in particular Rubber plantations.

1. Kerala Red rice has been historically popular due to its rich and unique taste, Rice in the days of Chera/Chola Kingdoms was considered a royal food

2. The grains are yellowish pink from being parboiled with the reddish out layers. Rose  Rice maintains a pink hue as well as its flavour on cooking. Like all brown or par boiled rice, Red Rice has a lengthy cook time and requires extra water.

3.Quality : Adulteration have become one major concern in getting good quality Red Rice. Lot of instances of normal rice being treated with chemicals and red oxides to give artificial colour is reported. PDS rice smuggled from other states added with colouring agents poses serious health hazards.

4. Two varieties of Navarra, the medicinal rice used in Ayurveda treatment, have secured registration. They are : black gloomed and golden yellow gloomed Navarra rice varieties, which are cultivated in parts of Palakkad district, GRADUALLY DISAPPEARING

NAVARRA RICE

5.  Red Rice  has huge fan followers across the country and USA and other countries where large Bharatiya population live. Tapping its popularity this premium rice has lot of  export value

6. In Kerala True original Red rice is not available because of adulteration, Original Red Rice has a unique look, fine smell and delicious on cooking keeping Redness still.

7. Paddy after boiling, and dried, then the external cover is removed by hand crushing, keeping the husk, the redness, use of machine  may destroy the quality and loss of richness and food values, polishing the rice totally avoided.

8. As Kerala is short of Rice because of  lack of cultivation due to number of reasons, suggesting to spread this quality Red Rice and Medicinal Navarra Rice to other states where a real true cultivation is done

9. We have a potential quality rice and export demand is greater, if we try to expand the production,  Bharatham will  be No 1 Nation in this Quality Rice.

10. China is exporting brown rice, which is getting popular because of shortage in export of our Red Rice from Bharatham, if the production is achieved throughout Bharatham, we have large foreign market where Red Rice in great demand
