The coexistence of heat and light is fire.
Hence it is a symbol to indicate the Reality behind the manifestation of the worlds.
We can see light, but heat in the fire is only experienced The manifested names and forms can be perceived, but Brahman behind them is to be intuitively apprehended.
The physicists say that both heat and light are particles with frequency.
Thus, in fact, fire is ‘seemingly nothing, arising from an apparent something’.
Similarly this world projected by the mind, which is itself an ‘apparent something’, on closer inspection becomes ‘seemingly nothing’.
Self-realisation lies in experiencing that this ‘something’ is ‘nothing, and that this ‘nothing’ is ‘no-thing’ but the subjective Reality, which is the universal Truth.
Whatever be the quality, shape and condition, colour, and so on, of the fuel pieces, when all of them are taken to the fireplace and digested by the fire, they become on homogeneous mass of ash!
In the samples of ash left in the hearth, we cannot recognize the ash of a particular twig as different from that of another.
